I create works of art in order to express the emotional experiences I have in contact with the world around me. Many of my works are an investigation exercise into nature and everyday life. The artwork I create is a result of the intimate relationship and memories I create everyday with people, nature and objects.
In my abstract pieces, these impressions are deconstructed and creatively molded back together in order to offer a new perspective. Memories are created on both conscious and unconscious level, and I deliberately choose to remember the positive and uplifting experiences. I use a combination of simplification, reduction and abandonment of the formal elements and disciplines acquired during my training, and give the viewer a chance to add a layer of personal reaction and interpretation to complete the artwork. The compositions are with no doubt, road maps of my emotional experiences, but the viewer is invited to immerse into these maps and explore the plebeian, tumult and balance of each piece.
Art is an essential part of my life and through it I want to be a part of the conversation involving culture, direction, past, present and future.

I was born and raised in Romania, in the beautiful region of Transylvania, in Sibiu. Here I attended a Fine Arts Highschool where I focused mostly on Graphic Arts: printing, lettering, graphic design, marketing materials. In 2003 I graduated at West University of Timisoara, earning a Master Degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Fashion. After a two-year career as a Fashion Designer, my husband and I moved to Chicago. I continued to work as a freelance fashion designer and in 2008 I started working in theatre and movies making costumes. I feel privileged to mention Joffrey Ballet, Goodman Theatre and Lyric Opera as work places and movies like “Jupiter Ascending”, “Transformers” and “Chicago Fire” amongst many I’ve been part of as costume crew.
In 2015 I graduated at DePaul University earning a Master Degree in Secondary Education in Visual Art and an Endorsement in Middle School. I taught for several years in public and private schools, taught private classes and events and I presently teach art classes in my home based studio and local after school programs.
Inspiration is around me as well as inside me. Inspiration is around me as well as inside me. Sometimes I create art as a response to a certain stimulus: a trip, a photograph that I took or looked at, a view that I saw while I was walking or driving, even my student’s enthusiasm for art. Some of my watercolors I’ve created as a result of the interaction with my own children: reading books, playing games and talking. Other artworks were created during trips or after coming back from a trip and working with photographs that me or my husband would take.
The bird looking creature collages were created as a response to an emotional trial, as well as my student’s enthusiasm for collages. Their enthusiasm was contagious, so I would go home yearning to cut papers and make art. It just so happened that the collages turned into birds emphasizing my desire to escape from the turmoil of my emotions and body.
Inspiration is everywhere and for me is important to stop, observe and process the events and emotions that I am experiencing.
Nature drawing is one of my favorite activities and I try to do it as often as possible, weather permitting, of course. I love seasons in the Midwest, but sometimes is simply too cold to have my hands out of the gloves
I am still doing art while managing a new business, being a mom and wife and working part-time. If you are interested in prints or other perch, check out my Red Bubble store
